You’ve heard it here before: Search engine optimization (SEO) is a necessity to popping up in Google’s gift basket of search results.
If you’re still unsure how to be great at SEO to bring many more eyeballs to your site, read more:
1. Use Targeted Keyword Phrases. To land near the top of search results, you need to get deeper in your metadata (which is how the engine tracks your site). The meta title is the blue headline within your search results, the meta description is the grey text that you see below it. Make sure both of them, including your URL, have the same keyword phrase. For example Digital Marketing.
2. Master the Google Keyword Planner tool. This tool which is free, shows you how people search. If you’re an attorney , instead of targeting something huge like “Attorney” which has over 1 million search results, try for something more specific like “affordable attorney” to show up closer to the top of the results and maybe even page one. Keep in mine numbers fluctuate daily.
3. Another important step is to create Content Landing Pages. Each content page should have helpful articles that relate exactly to your search keywords, like “digital marketing”. Don’t forget to tag headers, images, and videos with that phrase as well. Three and four-word phrases perform better than more general keywords because there’s less competition.
4. Feed Your YouTube Channel. Videos are harder to produce thus it’s easier to rank higher on YouTube. And if your idea is good, you’re more likely to go viral with a simple video. Embed links in your video with your targeted keywords and you’re on your way! People will be flocking to your site like like bees on nectar.
